A San Antonio man accused of murdering pregnant wife is dead after he allegedly killed himself in Las Vegas.

Narada Goodrum had been on the run since the December 27th murder of his estranged wife Cynthia Goodrum.

Cynthia Goodrum is an Edinburg native but moved to San Antonio where she and her husband had a rocky relationship.

Authorities received information that Goodrum had been staying at a Super 8 Motel on Koval Lane just blocks off the strip in Las Vegas.

U.S. Deputy Marshals and Las Vegas police arrived there at 10:35 a.m. MST Wednesday.

Las Vegas Police Department spokesman Marcus Martin spoke to Action 4 News.

Officer Martin said there was no exchange of gunfire but that Goodrum used a gun to take his own life.

U.S. Marshals Assistant Chief Javier Jimenez said Goodrum led authorities on a brief chase but shot himself in the parking lot of the motel.

Jimenez said investigators believe Goodrum was alone and had only been in Las Vegas for a short period of time.

"We don't have reason to believe he was with anyone or that anybody was helping him out," Jimenez said.

An autopsy has been ordered and is expected to take place on Thursday.
