A Harlingen woman was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after being hit by a car.

She was hit on the 1700 block of Morgan Blvd around 12:45 a.m.

The 22-year-old was crossing the street when the driver struck her.

She was immediately transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center for the injuries she sustained from the car's impact.

Witnesses told Harlingen Police that the driver of the car first slowed down after hitting the woman, but then sped up and drove away.

They were not able to give a detailed description of the car, only that it was gray.

The woman's condition is not known at this time.
