Several illegal gambling establishments in Hidalgo County have gone dark after investigators with the district attorney's office raid several arcades.

The Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office  will not tolerate any gambling establishment not regulated by the state.

Just after 2 p.m. Friday, investigators with the DA's office raided a home just north of 3 Mile Line on Bentsen Palm Drive.

One of two homes in the precinct secretly running casinos.

About two dozen gamblers spilled out of the home once law enforcement stepped inside.

Dozens of slot machines were found in just about every room of the house.

Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra said since the home casino is not regulated, the owners could easily rig the machines which can be considered theft.

The owners will be charged with ‘maintaining a gambling establishment and organized criminal activity.’

The machines and property are now in the hands of the county.

The money law enforcement officials gathered in the raid will go toward programs to help fight these types of crimes.
