A 30-year-old man was arrested after he was caught inappropriately text messaging a minor.

Ramon Francisco Garza was charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor for the messages he was sending to a 14-year-old girl.

The teen’s mother reported the texts after she noticed her daughter acting uncomfortable around her and her cell phone.

The mother questioned the messages her daughter had to someone in her phone named, “Rebecca”. After more questioning, her daughter admitted that they were to Garza.

She continued searching through her daughter’s phone and found out the texts to Garza dated back to July 2011.

Messages showed Garza complimenting her body and asking what she was wearing.

The 14-year-old admitted to sending him a picture of her in her underwear and said that Garza sent her a picture of his genitals.

After the mother contacted Cameron County Sheriff’s Department, a forensic interview was set up at the Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Homeland Security Investigators took the iPhone to forensically extract data for more information.

The teen told investigators that she had known Garza for about two years and that he frequently ask her if she were alone.

After the investigation, a warrant was issued for Garza’s arrest.

The 30-year-old was seen before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Luis Saenz on Thursday.

His bond was set at $15,000.
