A Brownsville mother got in trouble with the law for not supervising two babies.

18-year-old Ruby Vianey Martinez was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a police officer found her 1-year-old daughter and 1-year-old sister playing in the front yard close to a curb.

The officer made contact with Martinez and according to police she tried to blame her stepfather for allegedly leaving the kids unattended.

A witness observed the kids playing outside on the 2200 block of El Cielo St. for 1o minutes without supervision.

The teen was charged with child endangerment and criminal negligence.
