The majestic Ocelot is a small feline, found only in the South Texas area.
The Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge wants to bring awareness to the danger of dwindling numbers and what you can do to help.
They are hosting their annual Ocelot Festival, a chance for people to see these animals up close and personal.
Stacy Sanchez with the Refuge, stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to fill you in on all those details.
This will be the 14th year the event has been put together for your enjoyment. This year, they will be partnering with Gladys Porter Zoo for an Ocelot Soiree.
You can expect to see a new documentary by Richard Moore, "Phantom Cat of the Chaparral, Endangered Ocelot." Also, a private Ocelot showing to get up close and personal, home brewed amber beer "Ocelot Ale" and an auction.
It will be held on Friday, March 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Gladys Porter Zoo Special Events Building.
