A man in South Carolina is being charged with the murder of his Harlingen wife.

According to reports, Allen Lee Koon notified police that his wife went missing last Friday.

On Saturday, boaters found the body of Cindy Huckabee Koon in a nearby river.

Police believe the husband severely beat her and slit her throat before disposing of the body.

Cindy Huckabee Koon is originally from the valley and was a student at Harlingen High School.

She graduated in 1988.
