A 61-year-old man was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication and for having outstanding Municipal Court Warrants.

Harlingen police pulled over Juan Reyes Cortez on the corner of North 7th St. and Business 77 Sunshine Strip early Friday morning.

Mid-interview, the officer noticed Cortez had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath and body.

The officer also saw that Cortez was making exaggerated movements with his arms and hands and that his eyes were watery.

A crack pipe was found in the 61-year-old’s possession.

A criminal check showed that Cortez had the outstanding warrants.

He was arrested and taken to the Harlingen City Jail.

Cortez’ bonds total $5, 243.
