A former U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was arrested on Tuesday for impersonating an FBI agent.

This is the third arrest this year for 29-year-old Stephen Michael Rossello.

Rossello was out on bond for his two prior arrests involving stalking his ex-girlfriend.

On February 2, 2013, Rossello’s ex-girlfriend told authorities that he text her claiming he was employed with the FBI and needed to meet with her at an undisclosed location.

The woman had a protective order issued against him in January.

According to a lawsuit filed in federal court, Rossello was stripped of his badge and given a desk job.

ICE officials said he worked as an intelligence assistant in their Harlingen office where he was placed on leave following his first arrest.

The 29-year-old was charged with Impersonating a Public Servant and Violation of a Protective Order. His bond for the impersonation was set at $500,000. He was given no bond for violating the protective order.

Rossello had also been charged with Stalking and Criminal Trespass.

Both Harlingen police and deputy U.S. Marshals participated in Rossello's arrests.
