Cameron County Sheriff Investigators said they are taking no chances with a threat letter delivered to Action 4 News claiming a Walmart manager will be assassinated.

Sheriff investigators told Action 4 News this isn't the first time the Walmart manager on Alton Gloor Blvd. has received a death threat.

They said just two months ago, there was a letter sent to her home.

Investigators said the woman didn't follow up with investigators on that threat letter, so without her cooperation the investigation went nowhere.

The letter Action 4 news received two days ago at our studios names the woman specifically, and whoever wrote it said she will be assassinated because she's fired too many people.

A security truck has been parked right outside the entrance of the Alton Gloor Blvd. Walmart.

Sheriff investigators said it will be up to Walmart to increase security and add the personnel.

They have not yet requested police presence at their store.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said this is an unusual case, none the less they are taking it very seriously.

Sheriff Lucio added that if anyone is ever in this situation, they should immediately contact police and turn over any letters and other information to avoid jeopardizing the investigation.

Statement From WalMart:

We always review and adjust the level of security at our stores as necessary.

We are taking a number of safety and security precautions in light of the letter but it would be inappropriate to disclose further details.

Thanks for checking. We do appreciate your interest in helping law enforcement identify the person(s) responsible.
