Authorities are investigating a major accident just east of Los Fresnos that left one woman dead and several others fighting for their lives.
It all happened on Highway 100 near County Road 539 around 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers said one woman was killed and three others are in critical condition.
State troopers reported that a grey Chevy Impala driven by a woman was heading east when it suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic on the westbound lanes.
It's not clear why the woman lost control of her vehicle but her car hit a GMC truck towing a trailer.
Three people aboard the truck were taken to local hospitals where they were last listed in critical condition.
