A 3-year-old boy killed in the parking lot of a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Corpus Christi will be buried in La Feria.

Eli Rodriguez was killed on Monday night at the Chuck E. Cheese off South Staple Street in Corpus Christi.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the boy ran away from the family’s vehicle and was headed to the entrance of the restaurant when he was hit by a pickup truck.

Police said charges are not expected to be filed against the driver of the pickup.

Relatives said the 3-year-old boy was on his way to a birthday party.

Action 4 News learned that the family is originally from La Feria and that funeral arrangements will be held in the Rio Grande Valley.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Heavenly Grace Funeral Home off White Ranch Road in La Feria.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the same location.

The funeral will also be held at the adjacent Heavenly Grace Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Friday.
