Thousands of students will be flocking to south Texas within the coming weeks as spring break 2013 gets underway.
While it's time for fun, it's also a time when many accidents occur as well.
Elizabeth Paradise with the Texas Department of Transportation stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to discuss a program that encourages decision making this season.
Anyone who is going to be drinking is asked to use a designated driver or call for a ride via taxi or friend to get home safely.
TxDOT hopes to drive people who choose to drink to the site, where they can learn about the true costs of driving under the influence and discover all of the alternatives to doing so.
The website at the centerpiece of the campaign is
www.soberrides.org
