Strokes are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and the second right here in the Rio Grande Valley.

Now, your chances of surviving one just went up thanks to a brand new facility at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

The doctor at the center of it all is Dr. Ameer Hassan and he is conducting the trials at the hospital.

Dr. Hassan explains that there are specific factors that can contribute to the onset of a stroke and he breaks it down on Action 4 Sunrise.
