Go green this new year and make a resolution that is geared towards helping not just yourself, but the environment.

Action 4 Sunrise wants to encourage you to start recycling in 2013!

Delia Martinez and Chris Lash with the city of McAllen Recycling Center spoke to you about how you can get started.

Items that are able to be recycled are: tin, aluminum, paper and plastic. In McAllen alone, 39,000 people participate in the recycling program and they collect 5,077 pounds of products yearly!

The program is free of charge and items are picked up once a week. If you'd like to get started, you can contact the Recycling Center and they will provide you with bins and containers.
