Man charged in Weslaco DWI wreck that left deputies injured

Weslaco police have arrested a man who was involved in a DWI accident that left two Hidalgo County deputies injured.

The accident happened on North Westgate Drive back on September 12th.

Weslaco police took blood sample from 33-year-old suspect Leon M. Valadez at the time of the accident.

Results from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Crime Lab reveal Valadez had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit.

Valadez turned himself into Weslaco police on Tuesday.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant and driving while intoxicated.

Bond was set at $52,000 dollars.
