Man killed in rival gang shooting

A man was fatally shot in Lopezville early Sunday morning.

Authorities received the call at 1:06 a.m.

Police interviewed witnesses at the scene who said the shooting was gang related.

Rival gangs, the Tri-City Bombers and the Chicanos are the suspected gangs involved.

Police believe the victim is a member of the Tri-City Bombers.

Witnesses also said that the shooter was yelling that he was from the rival Chicano gang.

One person is in custody, but there are two others.

Authorities believe they know who those two suspects are.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case.

The victims name has not been released at this time.
