A Brownsville teen pleaded guilty to his role in a deadly October car accident.

Martin Villarreal-Ramirez went before a judge on Thursday.

He admitted in court to being the driver in a car accident that killed a 13-year-old and 19-year-old illegal immigrant, Arturo Filorio-Venegas and Alejandro Hernandez-Hernandez.

Five other immigrants were passengers in his car when it rolled over on October 15, 2012.

Villarreal-Ramirez fled the scene after the accident happened on Ruben M. Torres near McAllen Road.

Brownsville police caught Villarreal-Ramirez at his home four days later.

He told authorities he was going to be paid $400-$500 for taking the illegal immigrants to another location in Brownsville.

Villareal-Ramirez admitted to driving over the speed limit when he crashed. He said after the car rolled over, he escaped through the sunroof.

His sentencing has been set for June 6, 2013. He faces the death penalty or up to life in prison.
