An Alamo man is behind bars after leading state troopers on a Tuesday night chase across eight cities in Hidalgo County.

It all started off Expressway 83 in the rural community of La Havana around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of a Cadillac Escalade allegedly refused to stop for Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers.

The chase continued across eight cities but ended off Business 83 and North 13th Street in Alamo where the driver bailed out.

State troopers said the driver fled on foot but was arrested.

Authorities found several bundles of marijuana inside the SUV.

Investigators charged the driver with evading arrested and possession of marijuana.

The man’s name is not being released but state troopers reported he is from Alamo.
