San Benito police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting two girls for several years.

According to detectives one of the victims, who is now an adult, made an outcry stating that 45-year-old Jose Luis Gonzalez had been sexually assaulting her for several years.

During their investigation, a 12-year-old girl came forward and stated Gonzalez had also been inappropriately touching her for the last four years.

A warrant was issued for Gonzalez's arrest. He was found at a home on the 700 block of Orange Heights in Harlingen.

Gonzalez has been charged with 2 counts of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child.

Bond was set at $60,000, however the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued an immigration detainer on Gonzalez and he was transpoted to the Cameron County jail.
