Suspect served two years prison time for attempted murder

A man who served prison time for attempted murder is back behind bars after being accused of selling drugs in public.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 25-year-old Alfredo George Duran on drug charges on Friday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that they received complaints about drugs being sold in an “open-air market” at an empty lot off Billman and Hutto Roads south of Donna.

Deputies set up surveillance in the area and allegedly saw Duran engaging in illegal activity.

Authorities reported that Duran had 15 baggies of cocaine and six baggies of marijuana on him at the time of his arrest.

Duran appeared before a judge at the Hidalgo County Jail where he was issued $50,500 dollars in bonds.

Court records show that Duran once served two years in prison for attempted murder back in 2009.
