For the fifth time, Brownsville's Biggest Loser Challenge will be held to help individuals shed some pounds and feel comfortable in your skin.

Last year, 1,000 people participated in the event and officials expect a higher turn out this time around.

Registration and weigh-in will be held on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Southmost Library from 5 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, you'll have another chance to get started by registering at Linear Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The challenge is fee to everyone.

Events will focus on physical activity and healthy food choices for a positive lifestyle change. The challenge will run from Jan. 11th to May 4th.

If you would like to participate, you must be 18-years-old or older and must be present at the beginning and final weigh-ins for a chance to claim prizes. Those awards will be awarded to the first and second place winners in the four categories of the competition.
