Deputies start New Year with two murders in Hidalgo County

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two murders at the start of the New Year.

The first occurred on the 500 block of Joshua Street off La Homa Rd just north of Palmview.

There a man was found dead. According to Justice of the Peace Homer Jasso the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators with the sheriff’s department are not releasing any other information at this time.

Another shooting was reported in Little Mexico off the 300 block of San Angelo Street

Sources say one person was killed, and appears to be gang related.

No other information has been released at this time.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s investigators are at the scene and have several areas blocked off, however they are not releasing details at this time.
