A fire completely destroyed a home three miles north of Rio Grande City on Thursday.

A 66-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son were home at the time of the fire.

The San Isidro Fire Department received the phone call around 7:51 p.m. and responded to the family’s home on F.M. 755 at the Cavazos Ranch.

Rio Grande City Fire Department also assisted in putting out the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

San Isidro fire officials told Action 4 News that the family said they had been having electrical problems.

No injuries were reported.

Family of the home’s residence said that Red Cross has been helping out the mother and son.
