An on-line controversy is brewing after TV news anchors on the program "Fox and Friends" speculated as to whether a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Sandy could be doubling as campaigning to re-elect President Barack Obama.

New Jeresy natives Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi are joining up with Sting, Christina Aguilera and other stars to hold a televised benefit concert for hurricane victims on Friday evening.

But the crew of "Fox and Friends" questioned the motives and timing of the concert during the Friday morning show.

“Good intention, raise some money for victims, but the timing is more than suspect,” Fox and Friends guest host Eric Bolling said. “Is this more political? Is this more, let’s get this thing on TV before the election to help President Obama look more presidential? Or is it more to help out victims?”

A story on the news website www.salon.com about the controversy got hundreds of shares as of Friday afternoon.

Steve Doocy with the program asked, Where are the conservative performers?"
