Feb. 4, 2013 begins a week long recognition about a scary disease that hits close to home with two guests that appeared on Action 4 Sunrise.

Christie Gonzalez Salazar spoke about her son's battle with Congenital Heart Disease and Heather Silva, Director of Public Relations for the Texas Chapter of the Children's Heart Foundation, also

spoke about dealing with the illness.

Congenital Heart Disease is thought to be the most common birth defect and is a leading cause of birth-defect related deaths worldwide.

The illness affects nearly 1.8 million families in the U.S. and receives a small amount of funding for educational services, research and support.
