It's the busiest week of the year for retailers.

Employees at Rio Grande Valley stores spent Wednesday stocking the shelves and prepping the store for biggest shopping day of the year.

"It’s been really good for us,” said Mario De Leon with HEB Plus in Mission. “We picked up each day in sales."

With a constant flow of customers, team members keep on stocking up on more pies and bringing out more turkey's for last-minute shoppers.

But it's all just practice for Friday's big day.

Although they close early on Thanksgiving, De Leon said that doesn't mean they won't be working.

"We have our team ready to go at midnight,” De Leon said. “We do close at two o'clock but that is when we start preparing for Black Friday and we have a team ready to go at midnight.”

Expecting to sell lots of TVs, game consoles, video games and movies, the store is prepared to have every check stand open.

De Leon said it’s all taking extra precautions to make sure it all runs smoothly.

"We'll have security in place just to make sure it's safe and enjoyable,” De Leon said.

Ads for Black Friday deals will be in tomorrow's paper.

"Every HEB opens their doors at 6 a.m. on Friday morning but if you want to get your hands on some of those deals you might want to line up a lot earlier,” De Leon said.
