Nicknamed the "Jewel of the National Wildlife Refuge System," the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is celebrating its 70th anniversary on Jan. 26.
Special events will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the refuge this Saturday.
Jennifer Owen-White with the refuge stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to discuss what you can expect from the celebration.
The refuge opened in 1943, which makes it the oldest public nature site in the Rio Grande Valley.
Attendees can enjoy free admission and food, games, crafts, special programs and tours and fun for the whole family.
