The United States Postal Service is hiring!

Longtime postal workers are starting to retire, so positions posted for transitional and postal support jobs across Texas.

In the Rio Grande Valley, more than 300 temporary jobs will be filled.

Sam Bolen with the U.S.P.S. Rio Grande District said “there are opportunities throughout the district, which includes the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and all Central, South and West Texas cities with ZIP codes beginning with 733, 765, 766, 767, 779, 780, 781, 782, 783, 784, 785, 786, 787, 788, 789, 797, 798, 799, and 885”.

Pay for these non-career positions ranges from $12.38 to $22.15 per hour. The pay for temporary holiday positions will be $11 per hour.  None of the positions will provide benefits, but they have the possibility to lead to permanent USPS employment.

The job positions are being posted on the website  under the "search jobs and apply online section."

Positions are being posted weekly; anyone wishing to apply must do so in a five-day window.

It is suggested that applicants check the web page consistently to keep up with the position openings.
