Body found floating in river near Brownsville bridge

Border Patrol agents found a body floating in the Rio Grande River on Monday morning.

The area where the body was found is near a Brownsville golf course on the 300 block of Rio Levy.

This area of the river is also near the Veterans International Bridge.

Sources close to Action 4 News said the body had a bullet wound to the head.

The victim has been identified as a male in his 20’s.

He was fully clothed.

The investigation is being handed over to the Brownsville Police Department.
