The "Harlem Shake" internet video craze has now moved south of the border.

Reynosa mayoral pre-candidate Jose Ramon Gomez-Leal posted his Harlem Shake video on YouTube on Monday.

The Mexican border city's mayoral election is set to take place in July.

The 35-year-old Tamaulipas state congressman is one of three candidates seeking to be the National Action Party (PAN) candidate for mayor.

On his Facebook page, Gomez-Leal called the video the "JR Shake" stylizing the video after his first two initials.

But Gomez-Leal's video is not the first "Harlem Shake" video in the region.

The on-line video craze swept the Rio Grande Valley over the past month.

The student-run television station Bronc TV sponsored their Harlem Shake video on the UTPA campus last month.

Harlingen-based Liberty Tax Service produced a series of Harlem Shake videos on their YouTube page last week.
