A Santa Rosa middle school student was left behind at a track meet over the weekend in Raymondville.
The student’s mother said after competing, the 8th grade student went to the stands to watch other races when the Santa Rosa team left without him.
When the student realized his school had left, he approached a La Feria student asking if he could borrow the phone to call his mom.
The La Feria coach then spoke to the student’s mom and agreed to give the 14-year-old a ride.
Family told Action 4 News that they were appreciative of what was done by the La Feria team for the student.
Family said students on the Santa Rosa bus noticed he was missing. When they asked the Santa Rosa coach where the boy was, the coach told student’s his mother had picked him up.
Action 4 News contacted Santa Rosa ISD regarding the incident.
