A bizarre shooting over drugs leaves on man dead, and one facing criminal charges.
Authorities confirm 36-year-old Elizar Rubio was shot in the back of the neck at a home located on the 600 block of Ramona Street near Palmview.
Sheriff Lupe Treviño has not released the motive for the shooting yet, but family members told Action 4 News Rubio went to the home to purchase cocaine when he was shot.
Rubio pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's did arrest Juan Garza on Sunday for felony possession of a firearm.
His bond was set at $10,000 dollars.
Garza has not been charged with murder.
An investigation into the shooting continues.
