Customs and Border Protection (CPB) officers seized $1,015,000 worth of cocaine at the Pharr International Bridge on Tuesday.

The driver of a 2005 Crysler PT Cruiser attempted to cross into the United States.

The 20-year-old Mexican national, Omar Gonzalez, was reffered to a secondary inspection after he showed his passport with U.S. visa.

Officers and canines found 13 packages of cocaine hidden inside the car.

Gonzalez was taken into custody for further questioning.

He told investigators that this was his sixth time to knowingly transport cocaine into the United States. He said he was paid $500 each time he smuggled the drugs.
