An ICE agent found himself on the other side of the law after getting arrested for driving while intoxicated in San Benito.

San Benito police arrested 29-year-old Ramon Sandoval, Jr. on a DWI charge early Sunday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that an officer saw a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck driving erratically on northbound Oscar Williams Road.

The officer pulled Sandoval’s truck over at the 100 block of China Street where he and his female passenger got out of the truck.

According to a police report, Sandoval appeared intoxicated but refused a field sobriety test.

Investigators said that Sandoval refused to private a breath sample at the San Benito City Jail.

Police reported that Sandoval is a U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who lives in Rio Hondo.

Sandoval appeared before Cameron County Justice of the Peace Manuel Flores where he was issued a $5,000 dollar bond.
