A home health care provider jailed for stealing elderly Weslaco couple's identities and using them to open credit cards and buy three cars.

Weslaco police arrested 25-year-old home health care provider Federico Andrade Cabrieles on Monday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Cabrieles is accused of stealing documents from an elderly couple was supposed to be taking care of.

Cabrieles allegedly took those documents and forged applications to open credit cards and even buy three cars.

The activity was discovered by family members who reported Cabrieles to police.

Investigators charged Cabrieles with credit card abuse and making a false statement to obtain credit.

Police said Cabrieles did not work for any home health care company but was introduced to the familyas someone that could help to take care of the couple. Family members paid him in cash.

Cabrieles remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under $30,000 dollars in bonds.

Court records show Cabrieles spent six months on probation for a March 2006 drag racing arrest.
