Mission police officer arrested on DWI charge

A Mission police officer has been suspended with pay after getting arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Officer Randy Garza was arrested at the 1500 Block of Sheri Lee Drive in Mission early Sunday morning.

Chief Martin Garza confirmed Officer Garza “hit a mailbox” and denied a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer.

At this time, Garza is awaiting arraignment.
