Two Mexican men are behind bars in the Rio Grande Valley after they used cloned debit Banamex cards to clean out ATM across the Rio Grande Valley.

U.S. Secret Service and McAllen police arrested Jose Luis Cardenas and Pedro Torres over the weekend.

The two Monterrey men are allegedly part of a ring that stole Banamex and Banorte bank account numbers, created cloned debit cards and used them to withdraw money at ATMs..

The high withdrawal rate raised a red flag for the bank, but McAllen police said the suspects didn't realize they left a trial of clues behind.

McAllen investigators reviewed surveillance video which led them to their vehicle, which was spotted on the City of McAllen's high-tech video camera system placed strategically across the city.

A detective on the team spotted the vehicle which lead them to a McAllen motel where the suspects were staying.

Police said inside the hotel they seized hundreds of fake ATM cards, a machine to clone cards and an estimated $260,000 dollars in stolen cash the suspects had withdrawn from the bank.

A warrant has been issued for Jose Roberto Garza, who remains on the run.

Both Torres and Cardenas are expected to arraigned on federal charges soon.

The U.S. Secret Service and McAllen Police Department are unsure exactly how many people have been affect, but 90% are from Mexico.
