Search for Harlingen stabbing suspect continues

Harlingen police are searching for a man who fled the scene of a Monday night stabbing on the city's northside.

It all happpend at the corner of Rio Hondo Road and Morgan Boulevard on Monday evening.

Investigators told Action 4 News that one man was stabbed multiple times with a knife.

Paramedics rushed the man to a local hospital for treatment where his medical condition remains unknown.

Police detained three men at the scene for questioning.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, shares what unfolded just before 8 p.m. Monday.

"She just started saying that they stabbed her husband and the son came running down from he grabbed the guy who was in the car and started trying to take him out of the car and they took off really fast," the woman said.

Harlingen Police Sgt. Mike Brooks spoke to Action 4 News about the investigation.

"We're going to document the scene with photos, identify potential witnesses," Sgt. Brooks said. "We have three people at the station who we're going to question."

Police are looking for an older model Lexus, either gray or silver.

Investigators believe it's the getaway vehicle in the stabbing.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The investigation continues as police try to figure out the motive in the stabbing.
