Driver arrested after hitting San Benito girl with car

A San Benito driver is behind bars after hitting an elementary school student with his car.

It all happened outside Fred Booth Elementary School off Zaragosa Street just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the driver hit the girl with his car causing minor injuries.

Paramedics rushed the girl to a local hospital as a precaution.

The accident remains under investigation but police officers arrested the driver at the scene for driving with a suspended license.

Authorities have not released the name of the driver at this time.
