Traffic was reduced to a crawl while authorities investigated two auto accidents that took place minutes apart from each other off Expressway 83 in Pharr.

It all happened on the eastbound lanes of the expressway between Sugar Road and the U.S. Highway 281 interchange around 3:30 p.m.

Both police and firefighters were called to the scene.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a vehicle hit a concrete wall causing traffic delays in the area.

Paramedics rushed a person in that vehicle to a local hospital.

A pickup truck passing through the area became involved in a second single-vehicle accident where no injuries were reported.

Traffic on the eastbound lanes slowed to a crawl while crews cleared the area.

The cause of both accidents remains under investigation.
