San Benito police are looking for the suspect or suspects who stabbed a man to death early Monday.

Police told Action 4 that at 12:19 a.m. they responded to the intersection of Winchell and Rockefeller Streets in reference to an assault in progress. 

When the officer arrived they discovered a 19-year-old male identified as Angel Perez out of San Benito bleeding profusely from wounds caused with a sharp object. 

Perez was then taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen via ambulance where he passed away a few minutes after his arrival. 

San Benito Police Criminal Investigators are following several leads that will assist in identifying the assailant or assailants and have ordered an autopsy.
