Some 12 people are behind bars following a series of raids at alleged crack houses in Starr County.
Rio Grande City police and agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted five raids.
Investigators told Action 4 News that authorities hit three homes off San Benito and Gomez Streets in eastern Rio Grande City.
Another team raider a home on the city's northwest side off Houston and Fair Ground STreet.
The fifth raid took place on the city's westside off old Highway 83.
Investigators reported that nine men and three women were arrested.
All but one is expected to be charged in McAllen's federal courthouse on Wednesday.
Authorities said the raids come at the end of a year-long investigation into crack cocaine sales and distribution.
