La Joya Police are at the scene of a deadly auto-pedestrian accident that happened early Tuesday morning.

At this time traffic is being halted eastbound on Expressway 83.

Police told us that an 8th grade La Joya ISD male student was hit near a school around US 83 and Mesquite Road.

The school district said they are working on releasing a statement later this afternoon.
