La Joya Police are at the scene of a deadly auto-pedestrian accident that happened early Tuesday morning.

At this time traffic is being halted eastbound on Expressway 83.

Police told us that an 8^th grade La Joya ISD male student was hit near a school around US 83 and Mesquite Road.

The school district said they are working on releasing a statement later this afternoon.
