A Brownsville woman is listed in critical condition after being hit by a car and dragged for about 20 feet in the parking lot of a popular park.

It all happened in the parking lot near a set of soccer fields in the Brownsville Sports Park around 7 p.m. Monday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the driver of a GMC Yukon was making a u-turn and did not see a 28-year-old woman there.

The SUV hit the woman, pulled her underneath the vehicle and dragged her for about 20 feet before coming to a stop.

Paramedics rushed the woman to a local hospital where she was last listed in critical condition.

No criminal charges have been filed but the accident remains under investigation.
