Authorities are releasing new details now about a man whose body found in the Laguna Madre last week.

Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies believe the last moments of 65-year-old Michael Lonnie McPeak were caught on tape.

Video surveillance cameras from a business next to a bridge off Highway 100 and a channel that goes through the middle of Port Isabel.

The video shows McPeak with a dog and then going over the bridge.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said there is no connection to McPeak’s death and the deaths of two other people whose bodies were found off Beach Access 6 on South Padre Island.

"They next thing they saw is that the man went into the water whether he fell accidentally or something else that’s what they saw,” Sheriff Lucio said. “We are going to retrieve that particular video they saw time and time again but they can identify that was the man because of the clothing.”

Preliminary autopsy reports show no signs of foul play but toxicology and final autopsy reports remain pending.
