Authorities have called the U.S. Coast Guard to retrieve a man's body found in the waters of the Laguna Madre.

It all happened in the bay next to the Paradise Cove Subdivision in Laguna Vista mid-Friday morning.

The neighborhood is located northeast of Highway 100 and FM 510.

Texas Parks & Wildlife Department game wardens and the Coast Guard were called for assistance.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said deputies believe the man's body had been in the water for at least 48 hours.

Sheriff Lucio said deputies believe the man was from the Port Isabel area and are making contact with family members.
