Woman's body found on South Padre Island remains unidentified

Authorities are waiting on autopsy results to determine caused the death of a woman whose body was discovered on South Padre Island.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio told Action 4 News that the woman's body remains unidentified.

The woman's remains appeared to have been burried in the sand dunes and were found being eaten by coyotes on Wednesday.

The body was discovered with green shorts and a blue or purple shirt.

Sheriff Lucio said investigators want people to call the Cameron County Crime Stoppers Hotline at (956) 350-5551.
