Authorities are investigating a grenade attack at a television station south of the border in Matamoros.

It all happened at the XHAB-TV station on the city's southwest side.

Residents turned to he #matamoros hashtag of Twitter to report the attack around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported but the explosion reportedly caused damage to the outside of the building.

The TV station is home to the local Televisa affiliate.

Programming and broadcasting did not appear to be affected.

A motive for the attack is not clear.
