Action 4 News recently teamed up with NIU Urban LIVING to giveaway a $5,000 gift certificate to a lucky viewer.

Rosario Gonzalez, along with her husband, own NIU Urban Living.

“It’s a dream for us to finally open this location,” said Gonzalez.

They recently opened their second location on North 10th St. in McAllen.

Now, ask a person if they’ve ever dreamed of walking into a store and going on a shopping spree that came for free, they would probably say yes!

That’s exactly the chance Aileen Hernandez got courtesy of NIU Urban Living and Action 4 News.

“It’s the chance of a lifetime!  $5,000 dollars worth of furniture.  It’s great opportunity,” said Aileen Hernandez.

We went shopping with Aileen who was looking to spread that $5,000 over NIU Urban Living’s two levels of exquisite choices, with pieces suitable for all tastes.

Gonzalez said, “You can find anything from contemporary to global furniture, they’re all one of a kind pieces.”

From living rooms to dining room sets to light fixtures, anything can be found.

But Aileen was on the hunt for one thing, a bedroom set!

And after browsing, she found a few that suited her needs.

“I really like the colors, they’re young colors, and that goes with the college theme,” said Hernandez.

Aileen left a happy girl.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez says, it’s people like Aileen and the Valley that inspire them to give back through giveaways like this one.
